How to Fix Meta AI Not Showing on Instagram (iPhone & Android).

In addition, it totally depends on your location, where you are currently residing. 
• App Glitches: On my current mobile device, I am using the older version of Android, 1.0.4.0.UI SINXM. So, it might be because of that. In simple words, I am saying that utilizing outdated models, keeping corrupted cache, or even having multiple accounts on a single device can trigger Meta AI not to appear.  
• Account-Specific Testing: It means, from my research, you can’t control Meta AI, whether you have updated your Instagram or not. It first runs A/B tests to determine whether the specific feature is appropriate to completely roll out to a very small percentage of users. After that, if it finds the best and optimal response from the audience, it releases the update.   

Is This a Bug or a Regional Issue?

Sometimes, it is not guaranteed that your Instagram app is surely facing some technical errors. However, it can also happen because some countries don’t allow Meta to have access in their countries. Plus, it is currently rolling out, especially in the Middle East, across different languages.  

So, suppose you are currently residing in Russia, China, Africa, or in most of the European Union. As of 2026, Meta AI is not currently available. These countries have very strict compliance laws under GDPR and the European Union’s AI Act.

My Proven “Deep Clean” Fixes

I have tried various methods so that I can easily get rid of the “Meta AI not showing on Instagram” error. 

Method 1: Clear App Cache Without Losing Any Drafts 

I highly recommend you to go with this approach, as it will not take any additional time. Plus, your error can easily be solved out. Here, I have used realme RMX3867, as POCO M4 device has failed the test. 

• First, I access my device’s Settings. 
• Then, I tap on Apps. 
• Next, I tapped on App Management. 
• Here, I searched for Instagram and tapped on it. 
• Further, tapped on Storage Usage. 
• Lastly, I chose Clear Cache.

Or, if you are an iOS user, I recommend you to go with these steps: 

• Open Settings on your iPhone. 
• Tap on General. 
• Look for iPhone Storage. 
• Scroll down a bit to find Instagram. 
• Tap on Offload App. 

Note! With this, it will clear all your temporary cache without erasing your settings, documents, or login credentials. 

Method 2: Leaving and Rejoining for a Forced Update

I had performed this method earlier. Let me go very straightforward. This approach is a little bit tricky and needs some technical knowledge to do so. Moreover, there is a solution for iOS, but I am not able to perform it properly, which is why I am just mentioning the steps for Android devices. Here, you can follow: 

• Open the Google Play Store on your Android device. 
• Look for Instagram.
• Tap on the icon.  
• Scroll down the page. 
• Here, you’ll get the Join the Beta category. 
• If you are already a tester, just tap on Leave. If you aren’t, make sure to go with the Join option.
• Tap on the Join button.  
• Wait for a minimum of 5 minutes. 
• Afterwards, restart your device. 
• Again, come back to the Google Play Store app. 
• If you find any updates here, tap on it. 

Method 3: Checking Your Account Status: Are You Restricted by Age or Region?

If you are under 13 years old, Meta AI will be very limited. To check your account status, go through the workarounds below:

• Launch the Instagram app on your device. 
• Come towards your profile picture. 
• Tap on the three horizontal lines or hamburger menu. 
• Scroll down a bit. 
• You will find out the More info and support section. Tap on it. 
• Tap on Account Status. 
• Here, you will get warnings under Removed content or Features you can’t use.

Note: I tested these steps on two real Android phones: a POCO M4 5G with Android 14 and an older setup, and a realme RMX3867 with Android 15 and a newer, more stable configuration. The fixes worked completely on the updated realme device, while the older POCO setup failed at several points, likely due to outdated software and weaker stability.

 If you are still failing even after my most recommended method, contacting customer support should be your last resort. These are the following circumstances where you should seek help from them. 

• You have already tried to execute all the above solutions, such as clearing the cache, using the latest version of the Instagram app, etc., and you are still experiencing the same error.  
• You have confirmed your regional availability, but your account won’t be able to access it yet. 
• Your account is facing the same error, but not others. It simply indicates that your account type has a problem.

• Here, you can choose different models, such as instant, thinking, shopping, etc., according to your needs.
